Farm to Table Cooking Camp
For ages 12-17.
Join us for an intensive, fun week of advanced cooking skills, food exploration and dish design on the 21 Acres Farm! This class is perfect for teens of all cooking skill levels. Each day we will whip up one hands-on recipe as we explore farm fresh ingredients and learn useful cooking techniques. Each day teens will have the opportunity to cook and create dishes either on their own or in teams via fun challenges and activities. Campers will whip up fresh pasta, pastries, stuffed veggies, and so much more. By the end of this
week-long camp, students will have created new dishes and explored flavors and produce like they never have before! All ingredients are locally sourced through the 21 Acres Center.
We’re pleased to host Seattle Cucina Cooking School for these camps. Co-founders Alice and Erica teach in local schools, community centers and after-school programs in the greater Seattle Area. They lead creative, hands-on classes to improve students’ nutrition, how they relate to their families and community, and how they participate in sustainable food systems.
The focus is on creative cooking concepts and recipes made outdoors and fresh from the farm! Cook up two delicious meals plus work in teams to complete mini games or projects!
Skills include:
- Advanced knife skills
- Sauté, braising, baking, and roasting skills
- Flavor combination skills
- Learn about seasonal, summer produce
- Exploration of a farm and farm system
Class fee includes two meals. Contact 21 Acres with any dietary requests. A vegetarian option is available; allergens are dairy and eggs.
